Theft from Motor Vehicle at Waitrose Car Park, New Malden KT3 4HL |

Dear Resident,
We would like to make you aware of a Theft from Motor Vehicle, which occurred on Tuesday 30th September 2025 between 2pm and 3pm at Waitrose Car Park, New Malden KT3 4HL. During the time victim left their vehicle unattended and locked and when victim has returned to their vehicle, they have discovered their Two (2) Apple Mac Books and approximately £1000 in cash had been taken from their luggage which was sat of back seat of their vehicle. There was no sign of vehicle being broken into .
To prevent theft from your motor vehicle, you should always lock your doors and close all windows and the sunroof. Never leave cash, electronics, luggage, or any items in sight; instead, hide them in the boot of your car before you start your journey or take them with you.
What to Do Lock your vehicle: Always ensure all doors and windows are locked, even when you are only leaving the car for a moment.
Hide valuables: Place all valuables, including luggage, in the boot of your car before you start your journey, or take them with you.
Secure your keys: Never leave your car keys in the vehicle.
Consider extra security: Fit additional security devices like a steering wheel lock or install motion-sensor lighting and CCTV on your property to deter thieves.
Park responsibly: Park in well-lit areas and, if possible, use secure car parks.
What Not to Do Do not leave valuables visible: Even a jacket or an empty bag can tempt a thief to break into your car.
Do not leave documents in the car: Avoid leaving documents with your address in your vehicle, as they can help thieves locate your home.
Do not leave the engine running: Never leave your vehicle running while unattended.
